About the Position: Fort Moore is located in the "Tri-Community" comprised of Columbus and Fort Moore, GA; and Phoenix City, AL. Columbus (third-largest city in Georgia) is a growing community.

Duties

Research regulations and administrative requirements regarding various law enforcement issues. Utilize Military Police administrative services procedures. Use computers and software programs. Utilize law enforcement computers and software programs. Communicate orally and in writing in a clear, concise, and organized manner. Coordinate all necessary maintenance, repairs, upgrades, new acquisitions and similar services of all related National Crime Information Center (NCIC) equipment. Provide training in the operation of the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) terminal. Maintain historical documentation on National Crime Information Center (NCIC) Criminal files for review.

Requirements

  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
  • This position is subject to a pre-employment drug screening, and random testing thereafter, to include testing based on reasonable suspicion and testing due to direct involvement with an on-duty accident.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience 1) Providing guidance to personnel inquiring about various law enforcement regulations for distribution. 2) Input, verify, and retrieve data from law enforcement systems such as Law Enforcement Reporting System (ALERTS) and Vehicle Registration System (VRS). 3) Review Military Police reports for completeness and compliance with applicable regulations and policies. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Customer Service (Clerical/Technical)Integrity/HonestyWriting Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
