About the Position:
This position is with the DoDEA Office of the Director of Equal Employment Opportunity Programs in Alexandria, Virginia.
All candidates must reside within the local commuting area where the position is located. This is defined as the geographic area surrounding a work site that encompasses the localities where people live and reasonably can be expected to travel back and forth daily to work based on the generally held expectations of the local community. (5 CFR 575.203)
Duties
Provide analytical, evaluative, and consultative services to supervisors.
Use analytical skills in order to identify potential improvements to Equal Employment Operation Programs business processes.
Assist with the preparation of reports required by the command, Office of Personnel Management, and the Department of Defense.
Perform and assist with special projects as assigned by the Operations Branch Chief. Projects may include support of Recruitment and Special Emphasis Program Initiatives.
Review and evaluate resolution documents, such as judicial decisions, final agency decisions, and settlement agreements, to track and assist with the execution of the terms therein.
Requirements
- Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Requirement.

- One year trial or probationary period may be required.
- Appointment subject to a suitability/fitness determination, as determined by a background investigation.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
For the GS-11 Grade Level Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service which includes assisting in formulating and implementing office administration processes or plans; assisting with researching regulations or polices for various government documents; and assisting with mandatory reporting.
For the GS-12 Grade Level Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes formulating and implementing office administration processes and plans; identifying potential improvements to business processes; and performing or assisting with special projects.
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-11: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-9).
Time in Grade Requirement for GS-12: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
Education Substitution: Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience above in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualifications requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.
Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks may not be promoted more than 2 grades within the preceding 52 weeks.
