This position is in Office of Mission Support (OMS); Office of Human Capital Operations (OHCO); Labor, Suitability, and Conduct Division. About the Office of Mission Support | US EPA. This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to one of the duty stations stated in this announcement on a regular basis (location TBD after candidate selected).*EPA offers work-from-home and work schedule flexibilities as described in the Benefits section.

Qualifications

NOTE:  You must meet qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement. We are looking for at least one year of specialized experience related to this position as described below: To qualify for the GS-07 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-05 level defined as providing basic principles, concepts and methodologies in carrying out elementary assignments or procedures.- OR 1 full year of graduate level education or superior academic achievement (Superior Academic Achievement Definition) degree in an academic discipline related to this position - OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. To qualify for the GS-09 level, you need to have at least one year of full-time experience equivalent to the GS-07 level defined as providing service, guidance, advice and specialized expertise for a wide range of labor management relations matters.- OR master's or equivalent graduate degree; or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree; or LL.B. or J.D., if related; degree in an academic discipline related to this position - OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. NOTE: 1 year of full-time undergraduate study is 30 semester or 45 quarter hours. 1 year of full-time graduate education is the number of credit hours that the school attended has determined to represent 1 year of full-time study; if that information cannot be obtained from the school, 18 semester hours is considered 1 year of full-time study. Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of fundamental methods, principles, and practices sufficient to independently perform routine human resources management functions Ability to analyze office and agency programs and human resources issues to develop recommendations for solutions to problems Knowledge of the organizational structure and programs of assigned areas to provide advice to management Ability to gather facts and use effective, analytical and evaluative methods to accurately access information and make sound decisions Ability to prepare reports conveying basic human resources information to effectively communicate with others both oral and in writing resolving solutions to problems or responding to questions Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
