About the Position: This position is located in the AMCOM Combined Logistics Command, at Fort Novosel, AL
Duties
Plan, coordinate and perform a variety of management and administrative services in support of the Commander, Deputy to the Commander, Sergeant Major (SGM), and the organization.
Assist in organizing special events such as change of commands/responsibility, promotion and award ceremonies, organization days, hails and farewells, and other social events, coordinating when appropriate with Legal, Protocol and ACLC Staff.
Responsible for examining documents and other instruments, insuring completeness of information and conformance to pertinent rules, regulations, precedents and office procedures.
Prepare travel orders; coordinates lodging and transportation associated with temporary duty (TDY) travel; prepares and submits travel vouchers using the Defense Travel System (DTS)for the Commander, Deputy to the Commander, and SGM.
Serve as the principal office administrator on all office information systems; must be skilled and knowledgeable in the use and understanding of various office automation applications, databases, and various software packages.
Advise leadership on regulation, policy, and directives as it pertains to the organization.
Requirements
- One year trial period will be required.
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance.
- This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service. Resumes will be reviewed for one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Composing a variety of correspondence with minimum errors such as memorandums, presentations, briefings and spreadsheets. Preparing travel authorizations, vouchers, and arrangement through an electronic travel system. Managing the intake of customers by screening visitors, invitations, and having delegation authorization of leadership calendars and/or schedules. Preparing correspondence using office automated systems using several types of hardware and software programs. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
