Duties
You will installs wire ways, cable racks, and associated cabling to interconnect ship power, communications, lighting and other electrical systems.
You will repair or replace damaged electrical components/assemblies.
You will troubleshoot faulty systems/circuits to identify problem areas and initiate action to commence repairs.
You will test electrical systems using blueprints, technical manuals and test procedures.
You will install cabinets, enclosures, controllers consoles and various other electrical equipment as integral parts of ships systems.
Requirements
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
- Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- Position requires the ability to discern colors, contrast, and depth.
- Recurring lifting of light to moderately heavy items weighing less than 50 pounds, such as testing or measuring equipment; and/or regular visits to construction, industrial or other outdoor sites.
- Must be willing and able to perform recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing or similar activities.
- This is a bargaining unit position.

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION such as: INSTALLS, REPAIRS, REPLACES, MODIFIES, LOAD AND TEST NEW AND EXISTING ELECTRICAL LINES, CIRCUITS, SYSTEMS, FIXTURES, PANELS, SWITCHES, BREAKERS AND CONTROLS LOCATED IN AND NEAR FACILITY BUILDING AND STRUCTURES. TROUBLESHOOTS PROBLEM AREAS AND INSPECTS FOR DEFECTIVE EQUIPMENT AND FAULTY WIRING. USES AND MAINTAINS VARIOUS TYPES OF HAND AND/OR POWER TOOLS.
