Duties
The CDC utilizes Direct/Expedited Hire Authorities to fill vacancies in a variety of occupations. This vacancy is a REPOSITORY of applications. Duties and responsibilities vary and may increase according to the grade level of the position. Applications may be periodically referred to hiring managers both during the open period and after the closing date. Because of the large number of applications anticipated, applicants' status will not be updated.
This public notice will be used to fill the positions listed below.
Program Analyst (Data Analytics): Grade GS-14
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Serving as a technical advisor for the administration and management of assigned projects and studies, including the direction and control of project planning, project review and findings.
Researching and investigating new or improved business and management practices for application to agency programs or operations.
Keeping abreast of the existing and new data sources to extract new information and convey that information when reviewing and analyzing projects with data components.
Identifying data required for use in the management and direction of programs.
Developing data required for use in the management and direction of programs.
Reviewing financial and manpower reporting of projects.
Identifying internal/external best CDC IT practices and ensuring the methodology for sharing approaches is followed throughout the agency.
Understanding, reviewing, and analyzing IT projects using IT tools and techniques.
Qualifications
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of the announcement.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify at the GS-14 grade level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level, which must include the following experience: developing project plans and leading projects or programs; collecting and analyzing qualitative and quantitative project data; and analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established project goals and objectives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
A copy of your transcripts or equivalent documentation is required for positions with an education requirement, or if you are qualifying based on education or a combination of education and experience. An official transcript will be required if you are selected.
A college or university degree generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. For a list of schools which meet these criteria, please refer to

FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program.
