Duties
Responsible for oversight administration and implementation of policies pertaining to state medical affairs, and exercise of programs in one or more of the following areas: Line of Duty (LOD) Investigation Program etc.
Coordinates with the Human Resources Command (HRC), National Guard Bureau (NGB), the Military Medical Support Office (MMSO), Tri-Care, Regional Medical Command etc.
Serves as the advisor to the Supervisory Human Resources Specialist on issues of health care, sources of healthcare, and medical aspects of Soldier readiness.
Manages the funds associated with the appropriate programs and provides accounting for expenditures as required.
Responds to inquires and various correspondence within respective areas and ensure maintenance of an action file for all responses.
Coordinates, assembles, monitors and ensures the proper conduct of medical boards, and participates as required.
Reviews, evaluates, and interprets regulatory guidance, policies, and procedures to applicable programs.
Provides supervision of subordinate staff through the planning, assignment, and review of work; granting of leave; providing recommendation of training requirements, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.

- This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military assignment in the National Guard.
- Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform.

Qualifications
MILITARY GRADES: E4 THROUGH E9, O1 THROUGH O3
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training which involves the exercise of analytical ability, judgment, discretion, and personal responsibility, and application of a substantial body of knowledge of principles, concepts and practices applicable to one or more fields of administration or management; experience using computer and automation systems
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: At least 24 months experience, education, or training involving the administering, delivering, maintaining, advising, and adapting basic concepts, principles, and theories of Human Resources to the unique organizational, management, and mission requirements. Knowledge of the overall requirements, objectives, practices, and peculiarities of the assigned program area, sufficient to advise subordinate personnel or lower echelon entities on assigned actions or cases. Specialized experience factors encompass human resources program's business competencies, familiarity with the subject matter or processes used in human resources programs associated with DoD, U.S. Army, or U.S. Air Force. Must have at least 12 months of equivalent specialized experience to the next lower grade level.
Education
You may combine education with specialized experience to meet the length of experience requirement for GS-09. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
To receive credit for Education, you must provide transcripts or documentation of proof that you meet the Education requirements for this position.
