This position is located within the Patient Services Department of the Claremore Indian Hospital. The incumbent will be responsible for the direct supervision of the Patient Registration personnel and will provide planning and oversight of services which includes patient registration and eligibility determination throughout the Service Unit. This position reports to the Business Office Manager of the Claremore Service Unit.
Duties
Directs the activates of the Patient Services department
Prepares and analyzes statistical reports and control methods for determining effectiveness of operations
Establish performance standards for subordinates and performs performance appraisals within the established IHS guidelines
Collects third-party recipient health cards, obtains photocopies of the card and explains billing system to patients and families
Develops and implements quality improvement plan that is adapting objective and goals that are flexible to the department and needs of the facility
Qualifications
To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks:
GS-11: One year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level analyzing reports determining effectiveness; developing and implementing a comprehensive internal quality control system; long and short range planning, evaluation and analysis; establishing and implementing performance improvement goals for areas of the Patient Service department including but not limited to patient registration, benefits coordination, and call center services.
OR
A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or three full years of a progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., which included major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration
OR
Combination of education and experience that when combined fully meet the minimum requirements. Only education in excess of the second year is creditable.
Time In Grade
Federal employees in the competitive service are also subject to the Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
