Duties
Summary
The primary purpose of this position is act as the focal point for the administrative management of international military students attending technical training on Sheppard AFB by performing daily in-and out-processing tasks and providing direct support for international student travel, pay, and/or lodging, as necessary. This position will also be responsible for the managing/tracking of training tasks for GS-1702-07 Training Technicians and providing training to new Training Technicians. Furthermore, this position will be responsible for verifying the accuracy of documents relating to the travel, payment, and/or training of international students supported by the 82d Training Support Squadron's International Military Student Office (IMSO).
Duties
Plans and coordinates activities of the IMSO to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements and meets
customer needs.
Plans for and processes International Military Students (IMSs).
Monitor student's training, admin needs, and prepares students for return to country.
Develops, conducts, reports, and manages IMSO training.
Requirements

- Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military or commercial aircraft/vehicle to conferences, meetings, or functions away from the duty office/location. Travel may include overnight stays.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Clerical and Administrative Support Positions, for the GS-1702, Education and Training Technician Series.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE FOR CURRENT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Applicants must have at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower grade GS-07, or equivalent in other pay systems. Examples of specialized experience includes, (1) Knowledge of and the ability to interpret a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, and precedents relating to the International Military Student Office (IMSO) to resolve complex procedural and substantive problems; (2) Knowledge of various office automation software programs, tools, and techniques to produce a variety of documents such as letters, reports, spreadsheets, databases, and graphs in support of IMSO office operations.

FEDERAL TIME-IN-GRADE (TIG) REQUIREMENT FOR GENERAL SCHEDULE (GS) POSITIONS FOR CURRENT FEDERAL EMPLOYEES: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-07 level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-09 level. TIG applies if you are in a current GS position or held a GS position within the previous 52 weeks. NOTE: Applicants applying as VEOA candidates who are current GS civil service employees or are prior GS civil service employees within the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Knowledge of DoD, HQ USAF, MAJCOM International Military Student processing principles, theory, policies, directives, and procedures (as directed/inspected by AFSAT, AFSAC, SAF/IA, etc.).
2. Ability to develop, provide, track, and report on the status of IMSO training tasks.
3. Knowledge of office safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
4. Skill in conducting process/task audits, evaluating the results, determining the feasibility of necessary steps to correct deficiencies, and scheduling/coordinating corrective actions.
5. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse group of individuals, both orally and in writing.
6. Skill in utilizing common office equipment/programs (i.e., computer, printer, scanner, shredder, etc.) to input, store, retrieve, destroy, and research data.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
