You will serve as an Aircraft Mechanical Inspector in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Production Department of FLTREADCEN EAST.

Duties

You will perform inspections of installation, modification, fabrication, overhaul and repair, disassembly and assembly. You will inspect fabricated, overhauled, assembled, repaired aircraft parts and assemblies. You will calibrate and install electrical systems, equipment, and accessories on various fixed and rotary wing aircraft, aircraft systems and aircraft components and assemblies.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This position may be considered Key/Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: A - I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks including 1. Performing inspections of the installation, modification, fabrication, overhaul and repair, disassembly and assembly. 2. Inspecting fabricated, overhauled, assembled, and repaired aircraft parts. 3. Using a variety of equipment common to the aircraft mechanic, sheet metal mechanic and composite/plastic fabricating trades. 4. Disassembling, repairing, and assembling fixed and rotary wing aircraft systems, airframes, and components. 5. Devising complex templates/ patterns into shapes, rectangular, cylindrical, tapered, etc. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence. B - I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks including 1. Performing inspections of the installation, overhaul, and repair. 2. Inspecting assembled and repaired aircraft parts. 3. Using a variety of equipment common to the aircraft mechanic and sheet metal mechanic trades. 4. Disassembling and assembling fixed and rotary wing aircraft systems, airframes, and components. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection. C - I have the ability to perform common tasks including 1. Performing inspections of the installation, overhaul, and repair. 2. Inspecting assembled and repaired aircraft parts. 3. Using a variety of equipment common to the aircraft mechanic and sheet metal mechanic trades. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
