You will serve as a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER (SHIPS) in the PROJECT OFFICE of SUPSHIP GULF COAST.

Duties

You will monitor the contractor’s performance pertaining to schedule in all areas of construction. You will be responsible to the Program Managers Representative (PMR) for providing waterfront production and quality oversight of the craft and modules assigned. You will conduct periodic review of shipbuilder’s progressing system for accuracy. You will monitor the actual progress/status of work in fabrication shops, and the shipyard. You will assess the ability of the contractor to meet established schedule dates and production milestones as defined in the contract and contract schedules. You will maintain a historical record of all waterfront changes and cost estimates on all previous hulls. You will maintain the status of action in a computer database system and generate and distribute reports submitted for action. You will develop preliminary cost estimates for obligation purposes, investigates actual status of craft construction and fabrication, evaluates rework required, and evaluates the potential for contractor delay and disruption for proposed changes.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11)or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector analyzing production control procedures and identifying inefficiencies to make recommendations and execute project cost control measures for improving production efficiency and effectiveness.
