About the Position: Serves as the supervisor of the Airfield Services department, performing frontline supervision of The Department of the Army civilians, including roles such as Aircraft Attendant MVO Supervisor, Fuels Distribution System Operator, and General Supply Specialist.
Duties
Analyze work plans developed by subordinate supervisors and leaders and determines the priority of work to be accomplished in relation to future demands.
Provide higher level management and leadership information on status of work, budget estimates, required changes in equipment, facilities, techniques etc., for mission planning purposes.
Serve as the subject matter expert and the primary installation point of contact for matters concerning fuel products and distribution.
Maintain formal property records that reflect on-hand balances and location of property assigned to the fuel accounts.
Coordinate and direct the work of subordinate work units supervised.
Assure safety and housekeeping practices are observed.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- One-year probationary period is required if the selectee has not previously met this requirement.
- One-year supervisory probationary period is required, unless previously completed.
- Pre-employment physical and annual physicals while in the position.
- Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends and holidays.
- Applicant must possess a valid motor vehicle operator's license at the time of appointment, must maintain a license while employed
in the position and will be required to operate a motor vehicle.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service which includes: leading and/or managing teams, strategic planning, performance management ensuring compliance with regulations and directives; resource allocation, resolve issues concerning fuel operations, quality, safety, and environmental issues

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
