Duties
This position is located in the Office of the Senior Deputy Chairman at the National Endowment for the Arts. In this position you will serve as a Program Manager and report to the Senior Advisor for Innovation and Director of Creative Forces.
Creative Forces, or the NEA Military Healing Arts Network is an initiative of the National Endowment for the Arts in partnership with the U.S. Departments of Defense and Veterans Affairs that seeks to improve the health, well-being, and quality of life for military and veteran populations exposed to trauma, as well as their families and caregivers. The program places creative arts therapies at the core of patient-centered care at clinical sites throughout the country, including telehealth services, and increases access to community arts activities to promote health, well-being and quality of life for military service members, veterans, and their families and caregivers. As a Program Manager in the Creative Forces program, your responsibilities will include:
-Overseeing the process of executing and monitoring all Creative Forces cooperative agreements and associated activities.
-Overseeing the process of drafting and executing program solicitations associated with Creative Forces or broader arts and health-related cooperative agreements.
-Maintaining a calendar of activities and events that require coordination with other Arts Endowment offices, and responding to requests for information on Creative Forces or emerging arts and health programs from internal and external sources;
-Supporting long term planning, programming and outreach activities for Creative Forces or other arts and health programs being supported by the Office of the Senior Deputy.
-Representing the agency publicly at interagency meetings, conferences, and other events as requested by the Senior Advisor, and/or the Senior Deputy Chair, and preparing oral and written communications.
-Assisting the Senior Advisor for Innovation and Creative Force Project Director in every aspect of stewardship for the Creative Forces national initiative and other arts and health related initiatives supported by the Office of the Senior Deputy for the National Endowment for the Arts.
Qualifications
In order to Qualify for this position, you must meet the following Specialized Experience requirements:
GS-12:
You must have at least one year of full-time specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service, with experience in performing the following duties:
1) Working with outreach activities for arts, creative arts therapies or other arts and health programs taking place in either clinical or community-based settings;
2) Participating at official events, such as arts conferences, creative arts therapies conferences, art and health conferences, and site visits;
3) Assisting with monitoring arts-related cooperative agreements grant contracts, or other funding agreements or internal institutional programmatic guidelines and associated activities; and
4) Assisting with drafting documentation associated with creative arts therapies and/or other emerging arts and health programs.
GS-13:
1) Supporting long term planning, programming and outreach activities for arts, creative arts therapies or other arts and health programs carried out in clinical or community-based settings;
2) Representing an arts, health, or arts and health organization at official events, such as conferences and site visits;
3) Overseeing the process of executing and monitoring arts, creative arts therapies and/or other arts-related cooperative agreements, grant contracts, or other funding agreements or internal institutional programmatic guidelines. and
4) Drafting documentation and developing project plans and timelines associated with arts, creative arts therapies or other emerging arts and health programs.
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet these requirements, including experience with Creative Arts Therapies and/or other existing or emerging arts and health programs supporting activities in clinical or community-based settings, as decribed above, or will be found ineligible.
