This position supports the provider staff team of the Vocational Rehabilitation Section of the VA Medical Center in Miami, FL.
Duties

Functioning as an integral part of the care coordination team by performing office support tasks;
Managing fund control points;
Recording time and attendance for staff and patients;
Coordinating communication between patients, families, office staff, and healthcare providers;
Scheduling patient appointments;
Collecting data from computer application database systems to provide information on resource utilization, quality of care, and outcomes;
Applying knowledge of management and/or program analysis, technical rules, guidelines, regulations and precedents that govern the operations of a program/office;
Gathering data through interview or survey techniques, interpreting results of tests based on previous experience and observations, or extracting data from other sources as needed;
Ensuring the accuracy, reliability, quality, and timeliness of management or program analysis products, recommendations, studies, projects, and processes;
Coordinating the work flow of the office to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of ongoing clinical operations;
Performing related duties as required.
Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00am - 4:30pm.

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS GS-06: One year of specialized experience that equipped you with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of this position, and that is typically in or related to the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in Federal service. Specialized experience includes: performing clerical duties in support of an office; preparing correspondence; and maintaining employee time and attendance records. This experience must be detailed in your resume to receive credit.

IMPORTANT: A full year of work is considered to be 35-40 hours of work per week. All experience listed on your resume must include the month and year start/end dates. Part-time experience will be credited on the basis of time actually spent in appropriate activities. Physical Requirements: The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying of light items such as papers, books, small parts, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work. The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or libraries. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
