This vacancy is for an International Trade Specialist in the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.

Duties

As an International Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Perform research, including quantitative analytics and data collection management, to support trade policy efforts; and analyze global industries to develop information, including data collection, interpretation, quality assurance. Contribute to the development of trade strategies, supply chain policies, and recommendations using data analytics. Meet with business and industry representatives to provide outreach, and support senior management. Provide information, economic and market research, and assistance to Senior Specialists working on trade development programs or negotiating teams. Prepare and deliver effective briefings to managers and clients; and coordinate functions for trade events that have a governmental agencies are involved. Plan and coordinate functions for trade events when government agencies are involved. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-11 level you must meet any of the requirements described below: Specialized experience: 1-year (52 weeks) of specialized experience at the GS-9 grade-level or equivalent, performing the following: Assisting in the research and analysis of economic, market or other factors affecting trade and/or global metal industries. Performing any two of the following: data collection, quantitative analytics, data visualization tools (i.e., Excel, Power BI). Supporting the coordination or development of U.S. trade practices or policies, i.e., by communicating and/or presenting findings and information. OR Qualifying Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree -OR- 3 full years of related progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree -OR- LL.M., if related -OR- A combination of graduate level education and experience that meets the total qualification requirements. Note: Qualifying Education must be in one of the following major study areas: international policy, international commerce, international management, intercultural relations, international development, global economy, government and foreign affairs, international business, international trade, international economics, international affairs, international relations, or other related fields of study.
