This vacancy is for a Supervisory International Trade Specialist in the International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.
Duties
As a Supervisory International Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties:
Serves as the Director of Investment Services, providing direction and oversight of the Investments Services division, managing international foreign direct investment business development activities that are consistent with the advancement of SelectUSA value proposition, mission, and direction.
Develops, analyzes, and presents investment opportunities to potential foreign investors in line with their goals and objectives.
Develops and executes a business development strategy in key sectors and targeted geographic markets.
Proactively promotes the United States business and location advantages to foreign (nonUS) business expansion and relocation interests within strategic sectors with a clear view towards positioning the United States as a global leader in Foreign Direct Investment.
Independently performs investment promotion and facilitation, issue and investment policy analysis, and associated functions which address industries and/or markets critical to U.S. investment priorities and objectives.
This Job Opportunity Announcement may be used to fill other Supervisory International Trade Specialist GS-1140-15 positions within the Department of Commerce in the same geographical location with the same qualifications and specialized experience.
Qualifications

Applicants must possess one year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and responsibility to the next lower grade level in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular competencies/knowledge, skills and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. This experience need not have been in the federal government.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
To qualify at the GS-15 level:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as: Independently planning and conducting investment research, analysis, and presents investment opportunities to potential foreign investors in line with their goals and objectives; develops and executes a business development strategy in key sectors and targeted geographic markets; plan, manage major continuing agency SelectUSA program segments; and communicating information, both orally and written, regarding investment services.
