This vacancy is for a Supervisory Intranational Trade Specialist in the Office of Europe, Global Markets, International Trade Administration within the Department of Commerce.

Duties

As a Supervisory Intranational Trade Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Supervises Headquarters staff who research and analyze market access, trade and investment issues affecting U.S. companies in Western Europe. Represents and advises the Executive Director, Deputy Assistant Secretary, Assistant Secretary and other higher-level ITA and Department of Commerce officials on matters pertaining to market access and expansion of trade, export and investment opportunities for U.S. companies in the region, and broader U.S. foreign policy interests. Coordinates with overseas posts on developing events, policies, and programs that increase market access and trade promotion opportunities for U.S. firms and help promote foreign direct investment into the United States. Oversees preparation of briefing materials for U.S. officials on market access, trade and investment issues affecting U.S. companies in Western Europe. Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies; knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify at the GS-15 level: SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must possess one full year (52 weeks) of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience: 1) Managing personnel and delegating work to staff members; 2) Analyzing European economic, trade, investment, and political issues; 3) Creating and/or identifying professional development opportunities for a group or individual staff members; and 4) Working with foreign governments to resolve trade policy and market access issues.
