Duties

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Assignment Description: Administrative Investigators conduct investigations and inquiries and prepare reports in accordance with Agency and NGA Office of Inspector General (OIG) written guidance and established Council of Inspectors General on Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) standards. Additionally, they function as the liaison with the Defense Criminal Investigative Service (DCIS) and other federal investigative agencies, and conduct fraud awareness and prevention briefings to selected NGA audiences. This position is part of the OIG Investigations Division, is non-supervisory and reports directly to the Deputy Assistant Inspector General for Investigations.Additional Application Requirement: You may be asked to complete one or more assessments in addition to the application you submit on this website as part of your application to NGA. To receive the incentive, selected candidates will be required to sign a service agreement to stay within the position at NGA for the agreed upon time. If the service agreement is terminated before its completion, the employee may be required to repay a pro rata share amount of the incentive to the government. Qualifications

MANDATORY QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: For this particular job, applicants must meet all competencies reflected under the Mandatory Qualification Criteria to include education (if required). Online resumes must demonstrate qualification by providing specific examples and associated results, in response to the announcement's mandatory criteria specified in this vacancy announcement: 1. Demonstrated experience with Inspector General oversight responsibilities and functions.2. Demonstrated experience in taking testimony; preparing comprehensive and accurate narrative reports of investigation.3. Demonstrated ability to keep proprietary or confidential information secure and respecting appropriate confidences.4. Demonstrated experience with performing investigations or reviews of violations of law, rule or regulations and applying Federal statutory and regulatory standards pertinent to the conduct of fraud related investigations or reviews.EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: A. Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Criminology, Police Science, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field. -OR- B. Combination of Education and Experience: A minimum of 24 semester (36 quarter) hours of coursework in any area listed in option A, plus professional investigative experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work. As a rule, every 30 semester (45 quarter) hours of coursework is equivalent to one year of experience. Candidates should show that their combination of education and experience totals to 4 years. -OR- C. Experience: A minimum of 4 years of professional investigative experience that demonstrates the ability to successfully perform the duties associated with this work.DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION CRITERIA: In addition to the mandatory qualifications, experience in the following is desired: 1. Demonstrated skills in researching, planning, executing contract and/or fraud-related projects, to include data analysis.2. Demonstrated experience listening carefully and restating other's statements well, while maintaining a defined agenda using techniques to keep discussion focused.3. Demonstrated proficiency with developing, preparing, presenting informational programs - particularly related to fraud awareness and prevention; and/or planning and executing proactive investigative projects targeting fraud or similar misconduct.
