You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Research, Development, Test and Evaluation (RDT&E) Department of NAWCTSD ORLANDO.

Duties

You will support Integrated Test Teams (ITTs) for suitability for fleet implementation. You will coordinate Developmental Test (DT), contractor test (CT), and operational test (OT) program requirements to ensure adequate resources for Test and Evaluation execution. You will mentor test technicians to ensure adequate, coordinated, and timely execution of projects at NAWCTSD. You will assist LTE by assessing future technician manpower and skills requirements to develop and provide the necessary capabilities. You will be responsible for providing LTE methods of improving the technical and operational success of the Test and Evaluation program using their extensive technical and operational expertise at a senior technician level.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • MSP/PPP applicants must currently hold the required security clearance.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-12) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an Engineering Technician. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Applying technical engineering methods, principles, requirements, and techniques sufficient to test and evaluate a wide range of complex training systems; (2) Planning, organizing, and coordinating with a multi-disciplined project team within a matrix and IPT environment for complex training systems; (3) Solving complex technical and organizational problems through application of new technologies and experience-based judgment; (4) Executing project/program management as related to training systems test and evaluation; and (5) Conducting training system testing.
