You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Program Management Department
(AA50000),Tactical Air Systems Division PEO(T), Systems Acquisition Group, PMA-265 Support Branch, and Program Management Department of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.
The incumbent provides for effective life cycle management, which includes acquisition, development, testing, production, integration and sustainment support, and financial management for assigned programs.
The duty location of this position is Patuxent River, MD.
Duties
You will be responsible for providing program management support for the assigned programs.
You will analyze needs and synthesizes requirements information to develop requirements for program initiatives and plans.
You will serve as a key participant in the development of an acquisition strategy that integrates functional activities essential to the acquisition effort and serves as the basis for specific program management documents.
You will contribute to the determination of resource needs and allocation of resources (funding, manpower, facilities, etc.) for life-cycle management of the assigned program.
You will coordinate program efforts with other activities and personnel directly assigned or detailed to support the program.
You will provide advice to higher-level officials on program status and on problems that require resolution or adjustments that are needed in plans and schedules.

- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition;
2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies;
3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources;
4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; and
5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
