Duties
If selected for this position, you will join a well-respected team that is responsible for Supervisory Support Specialist work. Typical work assignments will include:
Supervises two support services specialists, two support services assistants, and one office automation Assistant.
Conducts in-depth, studies and analyzes of support service functions to evaluate their effectiveness and efficiency as well as their adherence to applicable statutes, regulations, policies and procedures.
Verifies that space is being appropriately used for its intended purpose and that any common use space or space set aside for use by the Support Services section is kept neat and organized. Arranges for the repair of the facilities when issues are identified.
Acts as a contracting officer on behalf of the District with procurement guidelines.
Ensures all procedures are followed in initiating all procurement actions and that funds have been certified as available and that all required approvals both internal and external have been obtained and documented
Analyzes and develops inventory control system.
Reports lost/stolen property and excess property. taking appropriate disposal action
Develops position descriptions, performance work plans and evaluates employee performance accordingly
.
Requirements
- You must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
- Initial appointment is conditioned upon a satisfactory pre-employment adjudication. This includes fingerprint, credit and tax checks, and drug testing. Continued employment is subject to a favorable adjudication of a background investigation.
- You must be registered for Selective Service, if applicable.
- If selected, you will be subject to the satisfactory completion of a one year supervisory or managerial probationary period unless this requirement has been met previously.
- Time-in-Grade: Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement.
- You must meet all qualification requirements within 30 days after the closing date of this announcement and before placement in the position.
Qualifications
**Must be able to obtain and retain at least a level 1 (one) Federal Acquisitions Certification in Contracting (FAC-C) as a federal contracting professional, FAC-C has specific training requirements with some courses online as well as classroom courses. To maintain a FAC-C, you are required to meet the continuous training requirement.
To meet FAC-C requirements:
a 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree with a major in any field.
-OR-
at least 24 semester hours in any combination of the following fields: accounting, business, finance, law, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organizations and management.
GS-12: To be eligible at the GS-12 level, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level.
Specialized experienceis defined as experience directing a variety of support services such as mail processing, purchase of supplies and equipment, etc.; arranging preventive maintenance of non- IT equipment and furniture; as well as ordering repairs for equipment, preparing contracts for procurement of property and services and utilizing inventory control systems..
