You will serve as a Plastic Fabricator Supervisor in the Coating and Services Shop- Code 970 of PEARL HARBOR NSY AND IMF.

Duties

You will evaluate manpower requirements and reassign personnel as necessary to maintain project schedule. You will supervise employees responsible for accomplishing all plastic fabricator work required in the repair and maintenance of ships and submarines. You will mentor and provide on-the-job training for plastic fabricator personnel. You will direct all employees on the crew to work in a safe manner by abiding all safety rules. You will inform superiors of issues that may impact schedule, cost, and quality. You will make appraisals of work performance and recommends subordinates for promotions, awards, disciplinary actions and training. you will plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools to accomplish nuclear and non-nuclear work operations.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
