Joining the Secret Service, International Programs Division, Office of Investigations will allow you to assess, analyze, resolve problems, and ensure optimum productivity, effectiveness, and efficiency of administrative operations.
Duties
The selectee will serve as a/an Staff Coordinator (International Programs) in the Office of Investigations. Typical work assignments include:
Serving as the Program Manager for Secret Service employees transferring overseas.
Working with representatives of the Department of State and Department of Homeland Security to review and implement policies and procedures related to overseas postings of Secret Service employees.
Resolving issues relating to operational methods by exploring means of adapting current methods, procedures, and policies into new patterns.
Providing guidance to Secret Service offices on State Department policies related to overseas Locally Employed Staff.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
You qualify for the GS-12 level (starting salary $99,200.00) if you possess one of the following:
GS-12: Applicant must possess one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Providing administrative support (e.g. procurement, housing management, and recruitment) to foreign offices that support internal objectives;
Communicating with senior officials or federal agencies to advocate for program needs such as, status of allowances or equipment needs/transport;
Collaborating with overseas staff to ensure all personnel documents are in compliance with international laws/requirements (e.g. medical clearances, foreign allowances, visas/work permits, etc.); and
Working with officials, stakeholders, or personnel at the local, state or federal level (such as Department of State or the Department of Homeland Security) to research and implement policy updates.

Time-in-Grade Requirements: Under competitive merit promotion procedures, any individual who is currently holding, or who has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under a non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet "time-in-grade" requirements (have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade of the grade for which you are applying). Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. NOTE: All current or former Federal employees must provide a copy of their SF-50 (you may need to submit more than one), "Notice of Personnel Action" that indicates proof of status and time-in-grade eligibility. The SF-50 must include your position, title, series, grade, step, tenure (1 or 2), and type of service (Competitive or Excepted).
