Duties

As an IT Project Manager, you will: Serves as an authoritative source to lead project teams of IT staff, business stakeholders, and highly technical contract personnel in coordinating and conducting a variety of complex information technology activities. Serves as a source of expertise for planning, developing, and implementing programs to accomplish important mission objectives. Directs progress reviews of the implementation of and/or ongoing conduct of program activities. Deals with key officials both within and outside the organization to gain understanding and support for projects. Serves as a Contracting Officer's Representative (COR) for complex/technical contracts. Provides expert advice and consulting support to customers for requirements analyses, solutions to business problems, implementation of new systems and processes, and other IT issues.

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For the GS-14, you must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes: Experience with systems administration and security - specifically in the areas of identity management, access control and integrated user authentication In addition to specialized experience, individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. The experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
