You will serve as an Emergency Services Dispatcher in the Dispatch Center of Fire and Emergency Services of MCRD ERR PI SC.
Duties
You will receive emergency call for service from individuals who are normally panicked, stressed, or distraught and provide pre-arrival instructions (e.g. CPR, Childbirth, First Aid, violent assaults, etc.) in anticipation of first responders.
You will properly categorize the call, determine the appropriate public safety response, and dispatch field personnel and equipment.
You will serve as a Fire and Police Dispatcher using computer aided dispatch equipment
You will provide liaison assistance between medical, fire, police and other agency personnel to coordinate joint responses.
Requirements

- This position is considered Emergency-Essential. You will be required to provide immediate and continuing support to ensure the success of combat operations or the availability of combat-essential systems.
- You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
- This position requires rotating shift work.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
- Incumbent must meet all standards found in the Headquarters Marine directed Consolidated Emergency Response System (CERS) training strategy for an Entry Level Public Safety dispatcher I/II within one year of employment start date.
- Incumbent must have 20/20 correctable vision in each eye.
- Incumbent must successfully pass an Audiology Evaluation.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Dispatching emergency vehicles including police, fire, and medical services personnel; 2) Assessing incoming calls to determine appropriate course of action; and 3) Utilizing emergency communication equipment.
