You will serve as an Administrative Support Assistant (OA) located at the Surface Combat Systems Training Command Learning Site Hampton Roads.

Duties

You will prepare correspondence ensuring it is properly formatted and grammatically correct. You will prepare performance evaluations and fitness reports for all staff to ensure all reports are properly formatted, grammatically, correct and dispatched within the required timeframes. You will maintain office files in subject and chronological order. You will access the government travel card information system to monitor transactions of travel card recipient's garnishment of accounts due to delinquency of payment and identify delinquent accounts.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position requires the ability to type at least 40 words per minute. Your response to the typing skill question on the Occupational Questionnaire will be used in your qualification determination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Perform administrative/secretarial duties requiring use of Microsoft Office Suite, databases, websites and various Navy programs; 2) Apply concepts, principles, theories, laws, regulations, and management processes that apply to the Command Pay and Personnel Administrator (CPPA) concept and military personnel functions; 3) Prepare performance evaluation and fitness reports for submission to Personnel Command; 4) Prepare military awards for submission to U.S. Navy Awards (NAWDS) website; and 5) Maintain command directives (instructions and notices).
