This position is part of the WAPA-UGP-Upper Great Plains. As a Maintenance Management Specialist, you will manage and administer the North Dakota Maintenance Office, Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and collaborate with maintenance managers, supervisors, and foremen.
**This is not a remote position. The selectee will be required to be physically present at the Bismarck, ND duty location.**

Qualifications
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
For the GS-09 level: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) in the federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as the following:
Experience with an automated system to track information, i.e., supplies, orders, assets, inventory, work orders, maintenance, etc.
OR Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D if related. Your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR Combination of Experience and Education: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
For the GS-11 level: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09) in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as the following:
Experience utilizing a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) such as MAXIMO to track high voltage power system electrical equipment maintenance activities, asset lifecycles and NERC/MRO/WECC compliance reporting.
OR Education: Successful completion of a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or at least 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. if related to the duties of the position. Your education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: Current career or career-conditional GS employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional GS employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). Note: Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to current career or career-conditional federal employees applying for a Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment.
