The primary purpose of this position is to inspect all vehicles/components repaired by contract, warranty or depot repair facilities, ensure repairs meet serviceability standards, and to manage said programs in accordance with (IAW) local instructions/directives.
Duties
Performs quality control inspections of contract and warranty repairs on a variety of general/special purpose vehicles, heavy mobile equipment and vehicle components/systems.
Consolidates and finalizes information from OLVIMS and files for various reports in accordance with established reporting procedures.
Ensures that at least three estimates are completed on each accident or abuse case.
Composes various forms of non-technical correspondence such as instructions on office procedures and letters of acknowledgement/notification or request for information.
Reviews/updates the depot overhaul plan projections annually for HQ AFMC

- Selectee will frequently lift up to 30 pounds and occasionally move heavier objects with assistance or mechanical devices.
- Selectee will frequently work while the equipment is overhead, where parts are in hard to reach places which will require them to stand, stoop, bend, stretch and work in tiring and uncomfortable positions.
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-5800 Transportation/Mobile Equipment Maintenance Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
