The primary purpose of this position is as an Enlisted Air Reserve Technician (ART), to administer and carry out all matters pertinent to military personnel programs, provide technical guidance and assistance to managers and supervisors within the Numbered Air Force {NAF). Additionally, provides training to reservist in the accomplishment of tasks set forth herein.

Duties

Serves as a reviewing official for assigned Military Personnel Program segments for subordinate units. Manages the Military Personnel Relocation programs for unit members. Plans and manages the Personnel Employment and Customer Service Programs for unit reservist. Ensures accuracy of Personnel Data System products and performs review of data reliability. Serves as a Career Program Advisor.

Qualifications

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions. SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which may have been gained while assisting in providing guidance and support of various personnel programs, to include but not limited to retention, reenlistments, relocations, transition assistance, performance reports, promotion actions and benefits programs. OR EDUCATION: Master's or equivalent graduate degree ortwo full years of progressively higher-level graduate education in an appropriate field leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100 percent. To combine education and experience, determine the total qualifying experience as a percentage of the experience required for the grade level. Then determine the education as a percentage of the education required for the grade level. Finally, add the two percentages. Knowledge of interrelationships of military personnel programs sufficient to properly advise services members and refer members for assistance and for technical problems solving. Knowledge of the personnel automated systems, personal computers, and software employed, in order to make reports, correspondence, and extract data. Ability to analyze facts, identify problems, report findings, make conclusions and recommend corrective or appropriate action. Ability to analyze data/products to determine adequacy of training programs and/or deficiencies thereof and interpret military personnel policies governing personnel programs. Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week. VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
