About the Position: This position serves as supervisor of team to support the logistics functions of the U.S. Army Recruiting Command (USAREC) Battalion (BN) located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.
Duties
Serve as the primary hand receipt holder to ensure that property accountability is maintained.
Analyze short range and long-range logistical needs to ensure requirements are met in a timely manner.
Provide assistance to the Battalion’s (BN) workforce by performing on-site visits.
Make recommendations to improve assigned organization’s logistical functions.
Oversee the performance of the Battalion's (BN) logistical functions in areas such as vehicle management, facility management, and supply work.
Coordinate with leadership to ensure logistics operations are in compliance with established policies and procedures.
Manage contractual requirements for appropriate documentation.
Monitor procurement actions to determine contractual requirements.
Ensure reports are submitted in a timely manner to the Defense Finance Accounting Service (DFAS) and contracting agency.
Approve all Government Purchase Card (GPC) purchases for supply items.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience and/or education requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: providing logistics support services in areas such as supply, facilities, transportation, and/or maintenance; preparing logistical reports and/or documents; and recommending necessary changes to logistics related issues; and maintaining supplies on behalf of assigned organization. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).
OR
Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Management, Logistics, and Supply Chain Management.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-07).
