About the Position: Serves as a Budget Officer, providing managers with objectively based information for making decisions on the administrative and programmatic aspects of agency operations and management, by accomplishing a wide variety of assignments concerned with effectiveness and efficiency of programs and operations.
Duties
Supervises overall performance of employees. Provides advice, counsel, and instruction to accomplish the assigned function.
Interviews candidates for vacant positions and initiates selections, promotions, and/or reassignments.
Advises program managers and management officials on the status and availability of funds.
Coordinates and reacts to resource/funding/programmatic changes.
Is responsible for executing a major segment of the command budget and a total budget for one or more funds (i.e., Operation and Maintenance, Office of Secretary Defense (OSD), Army Family Housing (AFH) etc.)
Requirements

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes assisting in developing in the processes, procedures and guidance to execute financial management plans and programs for the organization, maintaining monthly obligations and expenditures for assigned accounts; overseeing productivity, workload and program accomplishments by staff; providing information to top management on the status of workforce readiness.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
