This position is with the Small Business Administration, GCBD-Area 4-Chicago in Chicago, IL. The imcumbent ensures that small business concerns obtain a fair share of contracts, commodities and real and/or personal property handled by the federal government.
Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Receiving, tracking, reviewing, and analyzingall formal small business size protest submissions to ensure they are timely andspecific and in order to make a decision of whether to dismiss or process the protest.
Independently making and issuing written formal determination on a business entity's small business size status.
Providing official, written final business size status decision to all parties involved in the small business size protest.
Advising leadership on statutes, regulations, policies, procedures and practices to improve the size program.
Resolving issues that are beyond the scope of established processes and procedures.
Collecting, analyzing and providing information on specific cases or areas to respond to Congressional or other inquiries.
This is a bargaining unit position.
This is not a (drug) testing designated position (TDP).
Requirements

- You must successfully complete a background investigation.
- You may be required to serve a one-year probationary period.
Qualifications
GS-13
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service, obtained in either the private or public sector, which must include:
(1.) Independently applying and interpreting knowledge of federal procurement small business laws, regulations, policies and procedures to support businesses for compliance with regulations pertaining to federal contracts or subcontracts; AND
(2.) Conducting and evaluating market research to discern whether small business concerns have the requisite capabilities (financial, managerial, technical, etc.) to successfully perform a specific Federal contract; AND
(3.) Sourcing requirements to determine qualified sources focusing on those entities that qualify as small business concerns; AND
(4.) Developing and implementing strategies for increasing small business participation for the program requirements, i.e., contracts
