You will serve as a SAFETY AND OCCUPATIONAL HEALTH SPECIALIST in the S-4 Section of MARCORPSBARRACKS.

Duties

You will plan, develop, organize, administer, evaluate and coordinate a comprehensive safety and occupational health program for all areas of the installation. You will apply specialized expertise in the handling, storage and disposal of toxic chemicals, not hazardous and hazardous wastes in supporting the safety and occupation health program of an organization. You will ensure compliance with enforcement of various safety and occupational health subprograms, such as medical surveillance, respiratory protection, fire prevention and protection, and physical safety. You will provide records and report to external agency representative and evaluators as required on occasions of Inspector General Inspections, Environmental Compliance Evaluations, and other federal, state and local regulatory inspections.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current certifications associated with specialized programs such as Confined Spaces, Respiratory Protection, and Hazardous Materials.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: evaluating and conducting Safety and Occupational Health (S&OH) programs that involve hazardous conditions (e.g. hygiene, lead, asbestos) and recommending solutions.
