You will serve as a PURCHASING AGENT in the PUBLIC WORKS LINE, RESOURCES AND ASSESSMENT DIVISION, SUPPLY BRANCH of NAVFAC ENGINEERING CMD MID-ATLANTIC.
Duties
You will analyze purchase requests thoroughly to ensure adequacy of purchase descriptions, proper authorizations, funding availability, and compliance with special approvals (if required).
You will determine the appropriate method of solicitation (e.g., RFQ, RFP) based on the nature of the requirement, urgency, and commodity knowledge.
You will track and maintain up to date status of all requisitions and purchases.
You will conduct daily checks with customers and central receiving personnel to verify that material and
services were received and accepted, and update receipt status information in the system of
record.
You will document all purchases in accordance with current regulations and instructions.
You will reconcile and validate monthly credit card statements with completed credit card
purchase packages and authenticate monthly credit card statements within set deadlines.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
- This position may require occasional travel from normal duty station. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
- You must be able to successfully complete required training courses (i.e. Department of Defense Government Purchase Card training) specified in the most current versions of the GCPC regulations and as directed by the GCPC Agency Program Coordinator.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Overseeing all aspects of supply chain management using a broad knowledge of the Federal supply program; 2) Leading teams of buyers utilizing GCPC, MILSTRIP, and SAP or similar systems to procure material; 3) Utilizing knowledge of different procurement methods (e.g., competitive bidding, sole-source procurement) and the ability to interpret and apply these regulations appropriately.
