About the Position: Serves as supervisor of the Transportation and Document Control Team, Logistics Operations Division, Letterkenny Munitions Center.
Duties
Directs subordinates in the accomplishment of assigned material management.
Plans, directs, and manages the depot traffic program.
Reviews and interprets general policies, special bulletins, directives, technical manuals, federal and international statutes, and other instructions pertaining to transportation activities, materiel requisitioning, receiving and storage.
Formulates policies, and develops and establishes operational procedures.
Participates in planning for programs involving movement of materials, determining from discussions with depot operating officials anticipates quantities of materials, expected shipping dates, etc.
Selects employees from lists of eligible candidates.
Prepares performance standards and makes formal appraisals of assigned personnel and their work performance.
Provides on-the-job instructions and recommends formal training to broaden employee abilities and develop back-up skills by cross-training.
Activities performed or supervised include maintaining official liaison with commercial carriers serving the depot and arranging for the movement of materials
Responsible for the depot budget for commercial line haul transportation funds.
Requirements
- Appointment to this position MAY be subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is used to assist agencies and employees to avoid conflicts between duties and financial interest. This position requires pre-employment financial disclosure and annually thereafter.
- This position is subject to the provisions of the Domestic Violence Offender Gun Ban commonly referred to as the Lautenberg Amendment.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 10% of the time.

To qualify for this position, your resume must describe one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service including:
1) Evaluate traffic management principles or practices, to assist in resolving transportation, materiel and logistics operations issues; and
2) Formulate operational plans, policies, or procedures in connection with inbound/outbound munitions.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
