About the Position: : This position is located in the Transportation Division of the Letterkenny Munitions Center at Letterkenny Army Depot, Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. This is 1st Shift position.

Duties

Forecast, plan, and lead the operational activities of lower graded transportation specialists, freight classification specialists, and supply technicians. Formulate operational plans, policies and procedures in connection with inbound and outbound Class V (ammunition and explosives) movements throughout the Contiguous United States (CONUS) and Outside the Contiguous United States (OCONUS). Utilize multiple transportation databases. Provide solutions to difficult and unprecedented transportation problems requiring extensive knowledge of complex transportation methods. Ensure hazardous materials shipments meet the requirements of Federal Regulations, International Maritime Dangerous Goods Code (IMDGC), state, and local laws. Arrange for export shipments to be shipped through Government approved ports and Military Airlift Command (MAC) bases. Serve as the organization Container Control Officer.

Requirements

• Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
• Must meet the requirement for ammunition certification IAW AMC-R 350-4 within one year of appointment.
• Must obtain certification in Ammo-62, Technical Transportation of Hazardous Materials within 180 days of appointment.
• This position is covered by the 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for this position.

Education

You may qualify for this position if you possess:

A Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in accounting, business administration, business or commercial law, commerce, economics, engineering, finance, industrial management, statistics, traffic management, transportation, motor mechanics, or other related fields.

3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree

OR

LL.M., if related

OR

A combination of education and experience: the specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and more than one year but less than the required education described above. Compute the percentage of the requirements that you meet. The total must be at least 100% (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.)
