This position is located in the Division of Resolutions and Receiverships, Washington DC or Dallas Tx, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas of risk management and internal control assessment, assisting in the implementation of internal control and risk management policies, procedures, and programs associated with the review and evaluation of DRR's functions and operations.
Duties
Assists Internal Review management in ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place throughout the Division.
Facilitates DRR's compliance with the FDIC's risk management and internal control programs, by identifying key functional activities, assisting in risk assessments, suggesting potential internal reviews, and monitoring review schedule progress and results.
Provides assistance in the implementation of program area reviews, including visitation guidelines for field personnel, to ensure a thorough, consistent, impartial, and accurate report of observations.
Establishes the review objectives and scope, develops detailed review programs and questionnaires, determines the nature and extent of testing, collects and analyzes information, compiles working papers, discusses review results and recommendations with DRR management, prepares written reports, and follows-up on planned corrective actions.
Individually or as part of a team, plans, conducts, and prepares reports for operational, internal control, and compliance reviews of DRR programs and operations.
Prepares work products involving correspondence, technical reports, status reports, program schedules, and other reports pertaining to Internal Review activities.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 11 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience assisting in the planning and conducting of compliance, financial statement or management audits/reviews that address internal controls of operational activities of financial institutions or financial institution regulatory agencies.
