You will serve as a NATURAL RESOURCES SPECIALIST in the NAVFAC ATLANTIC DEPARTMENT of NAVFAC NORTHWEST.
Duties
You will coordinate natural resources planning requirements for an organization in compliance with environmental regulations such as the the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the Endangered Species Act (ESA).
You will prepare or review for accuracy and consistency Natural Resources documents such as biological/ Fish Habitat assessments for Endangered Species Act consultations, Marine Mammal Protection Act permit applications, and other related documents.
You will oversee intergovernmental coordination of Endangered Species Act consultations to facilitate approval by regulatory agencies.
You will present technical information to management officials for use in decision making.
You will prepare scopes of work and budges for preparation of natural resources management projects and regulatory consultation.
You will review environmental documents to ensure accuracy of Endangered Species Act listed species information and regulatory compliance information.

- You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time
- This is a bargaining unit position.
Qualifications
In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Managing or participating in Endangered Species Act section 7 consultations with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service or the National Marine Fisheries Service (NOAA Fisheries); 2) Writing or reviewing Biological Assessments under the Endangered Species Act; 3) Utilizing environmental regulations such as the Endangered Species Act, Magnuson-Stevens Fishery Conservation and Management Act, Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act, National Environmental Policy Act, or Marine Mammal Protection Act; and 4) Assisting with developing and maintaining project criteria, schedules, and budgets for projects.
