Duties
You will review and evaluate completed staff actions (memos, correspondence, reports, studies, fact sheets, information papers) for overall quality.
You will analyze work processes, and evaluates program operations; identifies problems, inefficiencies, and potential improvements; and develops options/recommendations for solutions.
You will provide advice and guidance for improvements and anticipates potential areas of concern or questions that should be addressed when making recommendations.
You will identify problem areas within the administrative processes, makes recommendations, and assesses and revises policies and procedures to resolve issues and find ways to improve quality, timeliness and efficiency of administrative work.
You will oversee or personally participates in extensive studies, prepares statistical summaries, formulates position papers, and prepares briefings.
You will conduct detailed analyses of complex functions and work processes including examination of production standards, programmed workloads, nonproductive time and deviations from standards to determine programmatic efficiency and effectiveness.
You will compile data, identifies facts, ascertains correlations and performs a range of qualitative and quantitative analyses to draw conclusions and devise solutions to issues encountered in developing and managing internal controls.
You will assist in the allocation of funds for the executive offices.
You will make recommendations regarding reprogramming where appropriate within allocated funds.
You will maintain awareness of and information about the overall status of financial resources to react to changing situations with timely recommendations.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
Qualifications
GS-09: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Must have the skill in problem solving to select, organize and logically process relevant information (verbal, numerical or abstract) to solve a problem. This includes skill identifying, compiling, extracting, interpreting, integrating, evaluating and applying information from an array of applicable sources, including Department of Defense (DoD), DON and NCIS guidance, to study and help solve an array of administrative and management/program analysis challenges.
GS-07: Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Must have the skill in operating a computer and modern office suite software to communicate, word process, record, calculate, prepare presentations, etc. This includes awareness of information technology solutions and ability to learn/use specialized software such as enterprise systems for a variety of management and program analysis purposes.

GS-09:
master's or equivalent graduate degree

2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
