About the Position: Position serves as Administrative Support Specialist, responsible for accomplishing a variety of administrative functions in support of a division within U.S. Army Human Resources Command (HRC), Enlisted Personnel Management Directorate (EPMD), at Fort Knox, Kentucky.
Duties
Review and analyzes administrative policies, clarifies complex and confusing guidelines and recommends changes to higher level staff. 1 = Position Description
Implement, monitors and maintains various administrative processes within the division, ensures they meet our needs and that staff follow them.
Track internal and external taskers and requests for information ensuring accuracy, timely responses and staff coordination.
Review all incoming and outgoing correspondence and distributes to supervisors and other staff members.
Establish and continually reviews, updates and develops complex administrative office procedures that affect the orderly and efficient flow of work within the division.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
- Position is subject to a one-year probationary period unless the requirement has previously been met.
Qualifications
Position may be filled as a Temporary Appointment NTE 1 Year. Temporary appointments may be extended up to a maximum of three (3) years.
Current permanent Federal employees (to include permanent Army employees) applying for a temporary appointment will be appointed/converted into a Temporary appointment with no statutory return rights back to a permanent position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing a variety of administrative and support duties in areas such as travel, file management, and property and personnel accountability to ensure the organizations efficient workflow; directing actions to the appropriate branch for response; receiving incoming and outgoing correspondence for appropriate distribution. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D. in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
