This position is part of the Haskell Indian Nations University, Bureau of Indian Education. As a Student Union Technician you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing day-to-day operations of the Purple Threads/Campus Shop.
Duties
As a Student Union Technician GS-0303-7, your typical work assignments may include the following:
Prepare vendor invoices and vouchers for payment of expenses.
Relay information to vendors for accurate delivery of material within established schedule.
Use an automated system to maintain, organize, and monitor record of inventory.
Purchase materials and supplies required for efficient operations.
Evaluate and establish promotional strategies to identify customer needs to develop and/or improve marketing programs.
Interview, hire, and maintain work schedules for student workers.

Qualifications
Applicants must meet the qualification requirements contained in the OPM Standards. For this position, they are listed below.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.
GS-7: 1-year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-6 grade level in the Federal service. Examples include: Work in a retail store; perform over-the-counter selling of merchandise; record sales from purchases; price merchandise according to pricing guides and maintain inventory; proper cash handling procedures and the ability to resolve arithmetic problems when receiving payment from customers; operate an electronic cash register, point-of-sale system, or similar automated system or software to conduct financial transactions.

Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year (52 weeks) of service at the next lower grade level.
