You will serve as a CRITICAL COATING AND PAINT APPLICATION INSPECTOR (SHIPS) in the NON-NUCLEAR INSPECTION BRANCH (CODE 133.1) of PSNS and IMF.

Duties

You will act as team leader or supervisor stand in on complex jobs where a team of inspectors support a work evolution. You will be seeing to it that needed plans, materials and tools are available. You will be checking inspections while in progress and when finished to see whether the supervisor's instructions on work sequence, procedures, methods and deadlines have been met. You will be demonstrating proper work methods. Leading by example. You will be seeing to it that there is enough work to keep everyone in the inspection crew busy. You will maintain knowledge of processes, procedures, policies, written instructions and other directives (for example, technical orders) and answer questions from other inspectors.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
