The primary purpose of this position is to route and expedite the movement of parts, end items, supplies, and materials within production and repair facilities to meet priority needs. The position requires the use of fork lift trucks and light motor vehicles.
Duties
Receives, routes and moves parts, assemblies, components, and other materials into and out of industrial shops.
Selects parts and materials to be turned into Supply.
Receives requests for parts and materials needed to support production work requirements.
Operates electric, LPG, or diesel powered fork lift trucks capable of lifting loads weighing less than 10,000 pounds as high as 168 inches.
Drives one or more types of trucks such as pickup, panel, and flatbed trucks, which typically have a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 pounds or less, on public roads at highway speeds.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 Warehousing And Stock Handling Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Regularly exposed to possible injuries associated with handling equipment. Work is usually performed indoors in well lighted and well ventilated shop areas. Fork lift operation work is normally inside in areas that are sometimes damp and drafty. Drives motor vehicles in all types of traffic and weather conditions. May be exposed to outdoor conditions for short time periods. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, fumes, and vibrations.
