The primary purpose of this position is to act as group leader to work independently with a group composed of six to twelve workers to ensure parts, end items, supplies, and materials within production and repair facilities meet priority needs. Determine workload requirements and adjust workflow to achieve the most effective utilization of manpower and equipment.
Duties
Oversees the timely movement of material to the production shops for the assigned organization.
When routing documents are missing or item is questionable, makes positive item identification by reference to appropriate manuals and blueprints.
Ensures parts are expedited and material is turned in to Supply.
Receives request for parts and materials.
Utilizes safety practices and procedures following established safety rules and regulations and maintains a safe and clean work environment.

- As required, may train and or guide lower grade or lesser-experienced employees
- Will be required to operate a forklift
Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C.
QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG-6900 Warehouse and Stock Handling Family. Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most blue-collar positions, you must meet any screen-out element listed, and show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on the quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.
The screen out element for this position is Ability to Lead or Supervise.

Work Environment: Regularly exposed to possible injuries associated with handling equipment. May be exposed to outdoor conditions and weather extremes. Regularly exposed to shop noises, dirt, cumes, and vibrations.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
