About the Position This position serves as a Project Management Specialist providing technical assistance and oversight in the Los Angeles District, Planning Division. Note: Relocation/Recruitment incentive may be authorized if found advantageous to the government. First cut off date will be 19-August-2024. Additional lists will be issued as needed.

Duties

Control and manage project milestones and budgets from preliminary stages through completion. Review project progress, measuring performance and taking necessary corrective actions to maintain agreed upon schedule and cost. Ensure the customer is fully informed of projects progress, issues and their resolution, and any impacts on costs. Collect project execution data from the project delivery team and confirm the completeness of the data and ensure it is timely and properly entered into the database systems.

GS-11 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes preforming project management on assigned projects/programs; managing or coordinating project/program milestones, scoping, and budgets. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: business, administration, public administration, organizational management, or other closely related discipline pertinent to management and administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: CommunicationsControl of FundsInformation GatheringPlanning and EvaluatingProject Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
