The ideal candidate for this position will have experience supervising or leading teams of highly skilled technical staff in data analysis, data visualization, reporting or other related data analytics disciplines. Experienced applying and evaluating mathematical or statistical methods in the following areas: survey design, data collection, data management, and data analysis. Ability to communicate results of data analysis using a variety of communication methods.

In this position, you will lead the Analytics and Reporting Section in the execution of data analytics project support including assigning work to subordinate staff, setting priorities, and communicating on behalf of the team to Data Analytics and Region 3 leadership as necessary. Qualifications

The qualification requirements listed below must be met within 30 days of the closing date of the announcement. This position has an Individual Occupational Requirement. Basic Requirements: Degree: that included 15 semester hours in statistics (or in mathematics and statistics, provided at least 6 semester hours were in statistics), and 9 additional semester hours in one or more of the following: physical or biological sciences, medicine, education, or engineering; or in the social sciences including demography, history, economics, social welfare, geography, international relations, social or cultural anthropology, health sociology, political science, public administration, psychology, etc. Credit toward meeting statistical course requirements should be given for courses in which 50 percent of the course content appears to be statistical methods, e.g., courses that included studies in research methods in psychology or economics such as tests and measurements or business cycles, or courses in methods of processing mass statistical data such as tabulating methods or electronic data processing. -or- Combination of education and experience - courses as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education. The experience should have included a full range of professional statistical work such as (a) sampling, (b) collecting, computing, and analyzing statistical data, and (c) applying statistical techniques such as measurement of central tendency, dispersion, skewness, sampling error, simple and multiple correlation, analysis of variance, and tests of significance. In addition to the above education requirement, you must meet the below specialized experience. To qualify for this position at the GS-13 level, you must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level in the Federal government, which has equipped you with the skills needed to successfully perform the duties of the position. Experience may be obtained in the federal government, a state or local government, or private sector, and must demonstrate the following: Supervising or leading a team performing duties related to data analytics, AND Overseeing and evaluating statistical methods and techniques used for data analysis and reporting in support of complex projects by multiple stakeholders, to include subordinates, AND Providing project and program management concepts to support project development and improve the effectiveness of program operations in meeting established goals; AND Communicating technical and non-technical information to stakeholders.
