Performs administrative, research, editorial, and other tasks related to the preservation and organization of the House oral history program. Assists in researching, writing, developing, and maintaining the official historical publications of the House of Representatives in both print and digital formats. Assists in the compilation and distribution of historical information and materials. Provides research and other assistance on various special projects assigned to the Office of the Historian.
Duties
Assists the office’s oral history program, including but not limited to administering, conducting, and processing interviews. Performs administrative, research, editorial, and other tasks related to the preservation and organization of the House’s oral history program. Assists in researching, writing, developing, and maintaining the official historical publications of the House of Representatives in both print and digital formats. Assists in the compilation and distribution of historical information and materials. Provides research and other assistance on various special projects assigned to the Office of the Historian.

Qualifications
Temperament to communicate with a variety of personalities in a tactful, pleasant, and professional manner. Strong writing and proven research skills are essential, as is the ability to edit and proofread documents. Familiarity with HTML/SGML, ProQuest, and Lexis/Nexis is required. A Master’s degree or higher in history, public history with related experience preferred. Ability to work in a team-oriented work environment is required. Must be competent in the operation of PC compatibles, detail-oriented, and able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds.No phone calls please.
