As a NBE-BE (Core Policy Analyst), you will serve as the analyst to the Senior Deputy Comptroller for BSP and perform a variety of professional, technical, and advisory functions to support the BSP management team with a wide range of OCC policy-related publications and projects.
Although Washington, DC is preferred, Alternate Location Arrangement (ALA) may be considered.
Duties
As a Core Policy Analyst, you will:
Provide expert technical skills to assist BSP management team in organizing and implementing OCC's bank supervision policy programs and review and analyze supervisory policy initiatives to determine the identification of and probable effect(s) on supervisory risks and banking operations.
Perform the role of a consultant and catalyst for developing, managing and promoting new processes and uses of technology to improve the way BSP and the OCC delivers information to its employees, the public, and the Federal banking system.
Serve as a BSP resource for the Single Supervisory Platform Project and as BSP representative on internal working groups and represent BSP on external projects for the Task Force on Supervision and other group projects.
Analyze complex banking and regulatory issues to assist policy experts with the development of new or modified supervisory policies and procedures and identify, analyze, and evaluate processes and methods within BSP to incorporate new or revised policies and procedures.
Serve in a liaison capacity within BSP and to other OCC divisions, including Large Bank Supervision, and Midsize and Community Bank Supervision, and Supervision Risk and Analysis, with respect to the development of our updates to BSP policy issuances and the Comptroller's Handbook booklets.
Provide project management skills for assisting the BSP management team in prioritizing work products and meeting deadlines while following and providing appropriate guidance.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 calendar days after the closing date of this announcement:
You must have one year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the NB-V band level. Examples of specialized experience for this position include:
Experience reviewing and analyzing supervisory policy initiatives to determine the identification of and probable effects on supervisory risks and/or financial institutions.
The experience may have been gained in the public sector, private sector, or through volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis.
