This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Domestic DIB & MRTFB in DoD to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. This position will serve as supervisor over the Sheet Metal and Tool & Die Shops exercising full supervisory responsibility over work operations.

Duties

Recommends changes to schedules, priorities, and work sequences. Establishes deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, and plans work assignments. Plans the use of workers, equipment, facilities, materials, and tools. Observes work in progress to anticipate and resolves problems. Tracks and reports progress on work assignments. Provides technical direction and/or help in accomplishing difficult work steps and processes. Inspects completed work for quality and work order requirements. Advises and counsels workers on how to improve their performance and explain new work techniques. Follows customary work cycles and sequences in planning work assignments.

Qualifications

Maintaining knowledge of machine shop practices and processes 2. Operating a variety of types of machine tool equipment 3. Planning work sequences to carry out assignments through completion. 4. Implementing corrective to resolve work problems. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
