This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Management Directorate (MGMT), Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM).
The primary purpose of this position is to maintains, coordinates, and further develop the operational process for privacy compliance documentation at OBIM under the direction of the Branch Chief of Privacy and Policy.
Non-BU: This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Government Information Specialist (Privacy), GS-0306-13, your typical work assignments may include:
Analyzes various reports and correspondence to determine privacy threshold and associated polices.
Facilitates the editorial process centered on document management, deadlines, content management and workflow, and the approval processes related to privacy compliance documents, and prepares guidance for privacy compliance procedures and operations.
Recommends complex programmatic and policy changes. Interacts with system/program owners and officials and other federal agencies to identify and correct issues related to privacy and to conduct business process reviews to identity vulnerabilities that could result in a breach of personally identifiable information.
Ensures privacy issues are addressed and business processes comply with all relevant legal requirements regarding privacy and the unauthorized access to personally identifiable information.
Develops and implements initiatives, which includes oversight on the collection, use, and dissemination of personal information.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in Federal service or equivalent private/public sector experience. For this position, specialized experience is defined as:

Develops and implements initiatives, which includes oversight on the collection, use, and sharing of personal information.
Analyzes and reviews a variety of reports which involves privacy and policy issues that may involve changes, conflicts, and projected impact upon program office ability to manage privacy concerns.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may not be used for this grade level.
